Hi Troels,
Thank you so much for all your support. I have now finished my beech
wood CNO 2.5s and am very happy with the fantastic sound quality. We
have been listening to them for two weeks now and the acoustics are
really amazing.
I used beech plywood to make sure that the wood wouldn't start to deform
after a few years with changing moisture. The beech surface is quite
thick and the feet were cut from a solid beech wood block. So from the
outside one cannot tell it is plywood.
The protective covers are held by neodymium magnets. Four magnets were
placed under the wood surface of the speakers from the inside so that
they are not visible. Four tiny ones are glued to the wood structure of
the covers. And for the covers I asked my local coffee roaster for an
old coffee bean bag.
The wood I got cut from my local carpenters because I didn't have the
right tools / or experience.
The electronics are not as tidy as in your builds but I can live with it
because they are not visible. And I stuffed a lot of filling fabric in
the base of the case that the electronics cannot move, even if I decide
to move and the speakers get carried around.
Again, thank you very much and greetings from Germany!!
Phillip
