Hello Troels,
I thought it was about time I sent you an e-mail to thank you for your hard work and dedication to the art of speaker building and for sharing it with us.
I have now been listening to your Ekta loudspeakers for well over 12 months, the photos were taken before the finish had been applied as I could not wait to try them out.
I kept the box a simple rectangle in keeping with my woodworking abilities, but the box volumes and driver placement are in accordance with your design. They are lined with 5mm bitumen panels and 12mm wool felt, with light stuffing top and bottom and in the mid enclosure.
I must say I am very impressed with them, I have had to stuff the ports to reduce the bass as they are placed too near to a wall and are sited in a bay which forms its own amphitheatre, I guess, but it keeps the wife happy.
It is impossible to describe the sound they make but the first thing you notice is that they put on a performance. They have a nice quality and attempt to being the best out of any CD that is played. With instruments each note has beginning and an end, you can hear how many keys are pressed in a piano chord and singers sing with emotion.
They have given me many hours of pleasure which is what listening to music is all about.
Regards, Alan Dobbins,
