Dear Troels,
I've finally completed my Faital 12-430 build by Troels Gravesen. Project link: https://www.troelsgravesen.dk/Faital-12-430.htm

The design was inspired by the Arendal 1961 1S subwoofer—which I actually don't need anymore. It turned out to be a great modern take on the 3-way classic. Visually, applying 30/60 degree chamfers on the vertical edges and rounding over all the corners really helped to reduce the visual impact in my not-so-spacious room and keep WAF high.

The cabinets are made of 22mm MDF, with a double-thick 2x22mm front baffle. I had the enclosures professionally built and painted in RAL 9003 (matte white, ~15% gloss). I handled the crossover soldering and the final assembly myself. I also opted for Neutrik speakON connectors, which I really like for their reliable and consistent performance.

I'm very satisfied with them both acoustically and visually. For the stands, I repurposed a pair of IKEA KYRRE plywood stools by shortening the legs. The stands are not permanent until I think of something more rigid, but for now, they stay like this.

It's also really important to me that my family can easily enjoy the system, so making the daily playback process simple and accessible was a top priority. The setup features auto-ON with the TV, a trigger for the amp, and seamless streaming via a WiiM Ultra, which provides a great user experience. Even my wife and daughter occasionally play vinyl on the manual Rega turntable without any issues.
Best regards,
Tomas
