Hello Mr. Gravesen,
I wanted to say thank you for your design and work and for making HiFi affordable, even for a student like me!
I attached some pics so interested people have an impression how a build can go. As I don't have much space and tools or patience I had to improvise several times and I'm not really satisfied with the finish yet. But that just looks and on the other side the sound is absolutely phenomenal!
I owned some speakers before and have some listening experience from HiFi stores and still I was blown away. There's so much clarity which I haven't experienced before. Soundstage is great, it's crisp and I can hear all the details better than ever. You get really much more from DIY than elsewhere, at least soundwise.
I was surprised how low a speaker of that size can go. My room only has 14sqm, with room gain it went down to 30hz easily! This went hand in hand with a fat room mode around 50hz (+10db). This is really bad with music where you've got some low end, but thankfully there are programs like REW where you can program some filters and eliminate that, if you listen through a PC. Big recommendation!
In combination with a subwoofer I have a nice frequency response from 20hz-20khz and can enjoy music more than ever! :-)
Cheers
Patryk
