Dear Troels,
Above all, I sincerely thank you for your site, the many information you
find there, and for your work of course.
I am 54 years old. I am not an audiophile, but since always I appreciate
a sound of quality. A family of musician, many instruments at home.
I built my first speaker, a SEAS kit, at 13 years old. A long time ago
so. What a pleasure it was to find it on your site!
Subsequently, I owned JBL, Infinity Kappa, and currently B&W DM4 and
monitors.
After long readings, and long hesitations (so many interesting speakers
on your site, 3 Way Classic, Jensen), I finally chose to build the Nomex
164 MKII. The WAF, among others.
The construction has been simple and enjoyable, with the exception of
veneers, and I have the pleasure of listening to them for a week.
They meet my expectations, and more.
A great transparency, an ability to fill the large room of 75m ²,
quality tones and bass that surprised me. Fast, dry, precise. And deeper
than I expected.
My wife is an opera singer, and admires the quality of the voices.
I respected your plans. Simply added 5mm bitumen pads, slightly adapted
the depth to maintain the original volume, and used 21mm birchwood
plywood.
I advise Nomex to anyone who wants elegant speakers of high quality.
Thanks again.
André
