Dear Troels, For construction I followed your design exactly apart from one feature.
I wanted a Zebrano veneer finish but could not find wide, iron-on sheets
- the only veneer available was pieces of real wood veneer in sizes
which would require splicing . As that was a long way above my DIY
skills, I used Zebrano veneered 7mm MDF on the sides, top and lower
baffle. I reduced the thickness of the birch ply on those panels
accordingly so the final thickness slightly exceeded the recommended
thicknesses. As per your other designs, I used a flexible glue to bond
the MDF to the ply. Solid Zebrano was used for fillets for the
side of the lower baffle and the plinth. (The only other challenge
is I couldn’t get 30mm black Valchromat fro the main baffle in anything
smaller than a full 2.4x1.2m sheet, but I managed to get blue in bespoke
sizes - so it just required staining and painting.)
