Hi Troels,
I just finished building the 12''Faital 3-WC speakers. I had a lot of fun during the process.
Thanks for making these projects possible. I am very happy with the end result/ sound!

I had my Audio Psychic speakers to compare them with. It's very clear to hear what a big woofer does to the sound.
With the new Faital speaker I automatically turn the volume up, even though they are more sensitive. The AP speakers have a clear limit. The scale and dynamics are phenomenal. With the AP speakers you hear the woofers are working hard to produce bass, it sounds ''pumped''. Weirdly I think the 3wc sounds more lean, but when there is bass in the recording there really is bass in spades. With the AP you get small pinpoint items in space. Whereas with the 3wc you get a wall of sound of instruments lifelike to scale. During AB testing the difference in energy is just huge. You can literally feel there is way more energy in the 60-300hz range.
 
The only thing I would say is that they are picky on source quality. Since they are very neutral and don't hold back in the vocal range.
I had to re-adjust my turntable and play with speaker placement to get the balance right. At first it was too light in the bass with too much mid/upper mid. They also needed some burn in time, I noticed improvements over a couple of weeks.
